Q: What is the difference between Flex Bucks and Rattler Bucks?
A: Flex Bucks are cash equivalent dollars that are untaxed and can be used at any dining location, including the Residence Dining Hall. Flex Bucks are purchased through your meal plan. Rattler Bucks is another form of cash that may be added to your Rattler Card. Funds may be purchsed by visiting www.rattlercard.famu.edu and may be used at all dining locations, the University Bookstore, and campus vending machines. Rattler Bucks are taxable. ?

Q: When can I sign-up for my meal plan?
A: There will be notification, when the meal plan sign-up start date begins. You must be enrolled in classes before you can sign-up.

Q: What if I have a food allergy?
A: Please complete the Food Allergies and Sensitivities Form at www.metzfamu.com/allergy. A member of Metz Culinary Management team will review your form and contact you within 48 hours.

Q: Are there any exceptions to the meal plan program?
A: Off campus students and students residing in campus apartments have the option of selecting any meal plan or none. Students residing tradtional halls must sign-up for a Gold or Gold 300 meal plan.

Q: I'm an off-campus student, how do I get my Rattler Card or my student number and library card number?
A: All incoming students must submit a photo online prior coming to campus to ensure your Rattler Card is ready for pickup when you arrive. To submit photos, login to our website at rattlercard.famu.edu using your university credentials and follow Photo Upload instructions. Photos should be submitted at least 48 hours prior to your arrival on campus
The virtual Rattler Card provides students the ability to begin utilizing their Rattler Card credentials (card and library number) for online access (i.e. book vouchers, library resources, etc.) prior to pick-up. Students must complete the online photo submission process to access their virtual Rattler Card. To view your Rattler Card credentials, login to our website at rattlercard.famu.edu using your university credentials and click on Virtual Rattler Card Display located under Account Management.

Q: What is the Rattler Card?
A: The Rattler Card is the official identification card of Florida A&M University. It is issued to all members of the University Community and is required for identification and access to essential campus services. It also offers a convenient account for making purchases on and off campus. All students, faculty, and staff at Florida A&M University are required to have a Rattler Card.

Q: How do I get my Rattler Card?
A: Rattler Cards are issued and distributed at the Rattler Card Office in the Student Services Center, 1510 Wahnish Way. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Q: What if I lose my Rattler Card?
A: Immediately report a lost or stolen card to the Student Services Center at 850-599-8366.
Deactivate your account at rattlercard.famu.edu
Replacement cards are issued at the Rattler Card Office located at 1510 Wahnish Way. A $15 fee will be charged to replace your card.

Q: What is my Student ID Number?
A: Your Student ID Number is your official identification number assigned when you registered at Florida A&M University. It is not your social security number, but a unique number.

Q: What is my Rattler Bucks Number?
A: Your 16-digit Rattler Bucks number is located on the front of your Rattler Card and uniquely identifies your prepaid spending account.

Q: What's the difference between my Meal Plan and Rattler Bucks?
A: Both accounts are accessed by your Rattler Card.
Meal Plans are options for how students can eat on campus. The Meal Plan is mandatory for Housing Residents at FAMU Village, Paddyfoote, Sampson, Young, Gibbs, Truth. A meal plan is optional for commuters and on-campus apartment residents. Additional information on Meal Plans can be found at www.metzfamu.com.
Rattler Bucks is a prepaid spending account offering a safe and convenient way to make purchases on and off campus. It is designed to eliminate the need to carry cash. You or your parents must add value to Rattler Bucks before using it for purchases. Value in Rattler Bucks rolls over from semester-to-semester and year-to-year.

Q: What is the Wells Fargo feature on my Rattler Card?
A: Your Wells Fargo Banking Account may be linked to your Rattler Card by visiting your local Wells Fargo Bank.

Q: How does Rattler Bucks work?
A: Rattler Bucks is a cashless, prepaid spending account on your Rattler Card that is accepted on and around the Florida A&M University campus. You must add value to your account before using Rattler Bucks to make purchases and have sufficient value available in your account to pay for each transaction. Every time you use your Rattler Bucks account, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account and you may not spend more value than you have. Unused balances roll over semester-to-semester and year-to-year.

Q: Where can I use Rattler Bucks?
A: Rattler Bucks can be used at many campus locations and at off-campus businesses. These can be identified by the “Welcomed” sign featuring the Rattler Bucks logo. Click here for a complete list of accepting locations.

Q: How do I make a purchase with Rattler Bucks?
A: At retail locations, Rattler Bucks works much like a debit or credit card. Just present your Rattler Card for payment to the attendant at the register and state that you would like to use Rattler Bucks as the form of payment. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized.
At self-service locations(i.e. vending machines), simply insert your card in the terminal.

Q: What happens if I swipe my card at a self-service location and the machine does not work?
A: If the self-service machine does not work properly, you will not be charged for the transaction. If for any reason you are charged, please email us a refund request at rattlercard@famu.edu Please include the location, date & time of the transaction(s) in question.

Q: How do I recommend additional accepting locations for Rattler Bucks?
A: Cardholder suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Recommendations can be sent via e-mail to our recruitment department at rattlercard@famu.edu Please include the name of the location and why you would like to see them join the program.

Q: What is the Rattler Bucks refund process?
A: You may receive a refund of your Rattler Bucks account balance when you graduate, withdraw or leave Florida A&M University. Proof of withdrawal or dismissal is required. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the University's card program service provider by emailing rattlercard@famu.edu
